Passive Infrared (PIR) sensors are a type of motion sensor that detects movement by measuring changes in the infrared (heat) levels emitted by objects. OPTEX PIRs have advanced features that offer superior detection with analytics that eliminate nuisance alarms to further improve their accuracy and reliability.
OPTEX’s PIR sensor range includes models for long and short-range detection, making them suitable for residential and commercial applications. The long-range PIRs, which are more suited to commercial environments, can detect intruders within ranges of between 30m to 100m. The short-range PIRs, which are better suited to residential settings, range from 2m to 12m and can be customised accordingly.
